The member of the Chapel Oaks Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Inc is sad to announce the pasting of Mr. Gary Hazlip. Gary pasted away on the evening of Monday June 8, 2009 after complications from a heart attack he suffered few months ago.

Gary was a Life (active) Member with 52 years of service to the department. At the time of his death, Gary was serving as the station’s Logistics Officer and a member of the Board of Directors. He also held many other positions throughout his career. His death is a great loss to the department and the community in which he served.
Services for Mr. Gary Hazlip’s home-going will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Stewart’s Funeral Home, located at 4001 Benning Rd NE, Washington, DC 20019. Viewing will be held from 12-1pm followed by services at 1pm-2pm. A repass will be held at Chapel Oaks Volunteer Fire Department 5544 Sheriff Rd, Chapel Oaks, MD 20743.
